ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Police Department has taken several reports of counterfeit $100 bills, in the last week.
The bills are washed $20 bills, reprinted as $100 bills. The counterfeit detection pens will show the bill as being real, as it is real. If you casually look at the bill you will see the security strip, which reads twenty and the watermark of Jackson's face.
Retailers are urged to take a closer look at larger bills, and if an altered or counterfeit bill is discovered, do not give it back to the customer, and contact the Rochelle Police Department immediately.
