ROCHELLE — Several emergency personnel members gathered in the 400 block of North Sixth Street across from City Hall in Rochelle Monday to conduct training.
The Ogle County Emergency Response team that consists of the Oregon, Byron, and Rochelle Police and Fire Departments, and the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office conducted several full-scale exercises in the buildings.
Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said the officers worked on door breaching, forced-entry, and simulated ammunitions exercises.
“This allows us to practice concepts and gives us real world training opportunities,” VanVickle said. “It let’s us roll into one group and one team.”
The three properties will be demolished in the next month to make way for the Kennay Farms Distilling storage facility.
