On Aug. 8, Duane Upchurch, 54, of Byron, was arrested for predatory criminal sex assault on child and aggravated criminal sex abuse warrant. Upchurch has a bond of $500,000/10 percent. Upchurch was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. Upchurch remains in the Ogle County jail.
Aug. 5
On Aug. 5, at approximately 3:40 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at the Shangri La Trailer Park in rural Rochelle. Pursuant to the investigation, Ruben Ramirez, 51, of Rochelle, was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Ramirez was confined at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the Rochelle Police Department.
Aug. 6
On Aug. 6, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Freeport Road and Springdale Road. After investigation, deputies placed Patrick Legel, 44, of Freeport, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Legel was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Legel was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

On Aug. 6, James Waller, 52, of Leaf River, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Waller posted the $75 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of Aug. 26 at 9 a.m. 
Aug. 7
On Aug. 7, the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kevin Jones, 39, of Stillman Valley, for driving while license suspended. Jones was arrested by deputies on Illinois Route 72 near Armour Road after being stopped for speeding. Jones was held in lieu of bond at the jail.
