County’s February recycling event canceled

OREGON — The Ogle County Residential Electronics Recycling Collection Event, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 26, has been canceled by the Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department. The OCSWMD regrets any inconvenience for this cancellation.
The OCSWMD’s next scheduled residential electronics recycling collection event will be Friday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 909 Pines Road in Oregon. Advanced permits are required to attend these events. These free permits may be acquired by calling the OCSWMD Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 815-732-4020 or via email at solidwaste@oglecounty.org.

Permits are limited to Ogle County residents, and allow the user to bring up to seven large accepted electronic items to the recycling event.  Limit one permit per household per month. Accepted items include all televisions, computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, monitors, computer hardware and cables, video game equipment, printers, FAX machines, copiers, DVD/ VCR’s, cable or satellite receivers, stereo equipment, radios, phones, holiday lights, rechargeable batteries, and ink cartridges.  Microwave ovens also accepted for a $5 charge.
