CRESTON — The No. 1 seeded Creston Lady Colts made it a clean sweep on their home court Thursday night when they came from behind to defeat the Kings Comets 34-16 and claim the Meridian Conference Tournament crown.
Creston held a slim 8-4 lead after the first quarter behind Sarah Watson’s two baskets, but the Lady Colt offense went cold and Kings outscored Creston 8-3 in the second quarter to take a 12-11 lead into halftime. Liberty Hayes and Teagan Meyers each netted four points in the frame for Kings.

Creston came out strong in the third quarter, however, scoring 12 points and holding Kings to just one point as the hosts took a big 23-13 advantage.

The fourth period was more of the same with Creston using a balanced scoring attack and strong defense to outscore Kings 11-3 en route to the 18-point title win.
Watson led Creston with 15 points on the night, while Adri Davis scored nine points for the winners and Sara Johnson chipped in with four points. Gabby Davis, Anna Samo and Caitlin Licastro rounded out the scoring with two points each.
Hayes led Kings with nine points, while Meyers added four points, Grace Luxton had a basket and Kenzie Bialas netted a free throw.

In the semi-finals, Creston defeated St. Paul 37-8, while Kings edged Eswood 22-16 on Tuesday night to earn spots in Thursday night’s championship game.
