CRESTON — Creston Village president Wayne Williams is working to alleviate concerns regarding the Hueber property after residents voiced complaints about excess noise and outside storage.
Williams indicated at Tuesday’s board meeting that he would arrange to meet with John Hueber to discuss the issues raised by several residents at the May board meeting.
“Since the [May board] meeting we had with the residents last month, trucks have been using Depot Street, which they are not supposed to be on. There’s been outside storage at the building…that’s one of the ordinances he agreed not to do,” Williams said Tuesday. “He agreed to plant shrubs and try to make it look like a residential area over there and keep it nice looking so residents wouldn’t have to see all the outside storage and hear the noise. I would like to sit with John and see if we can stop some of these problems. We can work together as neighbors and a community rather than a business and a community.”
Williams also said residents having been complaining about work noise starting as early as 4 a.m., much earlier than the agreed upon time of 7 a.m.
“[Hueber, LLC] wanted to build a maintenance shed because the one they were using before was way too small. They approached the village and we allowed them to do that, but with certain stipulations. These were part of the ordinance they signed and agreed to,” Williams added.
