ROCHELLE — The Creston Road bridge over Interstate 39 is expected to remain closed until sometime next year.
The City of Rochelle announced on Thursday that the state hopes to repair the bridge in 2019.
“IDOT has informed our Engineer that the Creston Road Bridge reconstruction project is not included in this year’s budget. They hope to repair the bridge in 2019,” as posted by the city.
In May of 2017 a truck struck the bridge in the northbound lane. At that time the damage was assessed by the Illinois Dept. of Transportation and was to be repaired in a few weeks. Detours are posted to reroute traffic to ILL Rte. 38 via Dement and Mulford Roads.
