KINGSTON — Senior Katherine Bakken was Rochelle’s top performer on Wednesday, when the Hubs and Lady Hubs competed in the Genoa-Kingston Matt Walter Invitational at Walcamp.
The Lady Hubs finished fifth out of seven schools with 132 points, and Bakken took second place individually out of 50 runners, clocking in at 18:41.0. Junior Britney Baez placed 22nd with a time of 20:39.0 while senior Anne Hickey placed 33rd in 22:02.0. Sophomore Heidi Cruz took 40th in 23:41.0 to round out Rochelle’s top four girls on Wednesday.
The Hubs placed seventh overall with 156 points. Junior Tucker Louis led Rochelle by placing 25th out of 51 runners with a time of 17:48.0 while junior Santi Cordoba finished 27th with a time of 18:07.0. Sophomore Aiden Seldal took 34th in 19:24.0 and senior Xavier Arriaga finished 39th in 19:51.0 to round out Rochelle’s top four boys.
Both teams will compete in the Freeport Invitational at Highland Community College this weekend.
