ELGIN — The Rochelle Middle School cross country teams competed at the North Central Junior Conference Championships at Prairie Knolls over the weekend. Declan McGee recorded the fastest time for the Royals, medaling in 15th place with a time of 12:48.5 in the 2-mile race.
The Royal boys finished sixth out of eight teams with 190 points. Levi Waddle took 49th with a time of 14:32.9 and Elijah Mayen placed 52nd with a time of 14:40.0. Carol Carpenter finished 26th with a time of 14:49.1 to lead the Royal girls, who took eighth place in the conference.
