The Rochelle Hub and Lady Hub cross country teams battled in the First to the Finish Invitational at Detweiller Park on Saturday. The girls finished 34th out of 50 teams in Class 2A with 916 points while the boys took 53rd out of 56 teams with 1543 points.

PEORIA — The Rochelle Hub and Lady Hub cross country teams battled in the First to the Finish Invitational at Detweiller Park on Saturday. The girls finished 34th out of 50 teams in Class 2A with 916 points while the boys took 53rd out of 56 teams with 1543 points.
Senior Katherine Bakken finished 24th out of 437 girls in Class 2A with a time of 18:48.3 while junior Britney Baez placed 171st with a time of 21:21.2 to lead the Lady Hubs. Senior Anne Hickey clocked in at 22:56.6 for 271st while freshman Sara Johnson finished in 22:59.9 for 280th and sophomore Heidi Cruz ran a 23:31.9 for 313th.
Junior Santi Cordoba led the Hubs with a time of 17:31.8 to finish 174th out of 477 runners. Junior Tucker Louis placed 301st with a time of 18:32.0 while sophomore Aiden Seldal (20:32.3) and senior Xavier Arriaga (20:32.5) took 440th and 441st respectively. Junior Diego Escobar was 447th with a time of 20:51.1.
Rochelle will return to action when it hosts the Rochelle Invitational at Skare Park on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m.
