Cross Country: Rochelle runners race at First to the Finish Invitational
Hernandez leads RTHS athletes in Saturday meet at Detweiller Park
PEORIA — The Rochelle Hub and Lady Hub cross country teams traveled south to Detweiller Park for the First to the Finish Invitational on Saturday morning. The Hubs finished 52nd out of 62 teams in the varsity race, while the Lady Hubs took 51st out of 53 teams. Senior Luis Hernandez recorded the fastest time for the Hubs, placing 203rd out of 554 runners with a time of 17:19.30.
Sophomore Declan McGee finished 251st with a time of 17:45.20 and sophomore Elijah Mayen finished 395th with a time of 19:13.60. Senior Caleb Wyssbrod and sophomore Levi Waddle rounded out the top five runners for the Hubs, placing 442nd and 478th with respective times of 19:52.40 and 20:37.70.
Sophomore Annaliese Koziol led the Lady Hubs in the race, finishing 176th out of 477 runners with a time of 21:23.00. Sophomores Rose Luxton and Mary Chadwick followed with 365th and 390th-place finishes with respective times of 24:28.30 and 24:57.70. Freshman Vivi Worthington and junior Bridgett Ramirez placed 425th and 456th with times of 25:51.50 and 28:02.00 to round out the top five runners in the meet.
RTHS will host the Rochelle Invitational at Skare Park on Thursday before traveling to Kaneland for the Larry Eddington Invitational on Saturday.
