Crystal Joan Roeglin, 91, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. Crystal was born Dec. 31, 1929 to John and Florence (Hage) Kuehl in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

ROCHELLE – Crystal Joan Roeglin, 91, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. Crystal was born Dec. 31, 1929 to John and Florence (Hage) Kuehl in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She was given her name after she was born on New Year’s Eve. They wanted her to have a name that sparkled.

Crystal was a loving wife, mother and dedicated educator. She married Kenneth Carl Roeglin on April 14, 1951 in Milwaukee.

They moved to Rochelle with their family in 1961 and then she worked for Rochelle Elementary School as a teacher’s aide and later taught preschool at St. Paul Lutheran School.
Crystal was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle, PEO and the Rochelle Community Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son, Dan Roeglin, of Hudson, Wisconsin, son, Bob (Donna) Roeglin, of Monroe Center, son, David (Deborah) Roeglin, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, daughter, Jennifer (Skeet) Helfrich, of Rochelle, and lifelong friend, Ginnie Sullivan, Racine, Wisconsin.

Crystal was also survived by 11 grandchildren, Traci (Donovan) Bump, Oak Park Heights, Minnesota, Renee (David) Powers, Bloomington, Minnesota, Rebecca (Isaac Sailer) Roeglin, Hudson, Wisconsin, Tara (David) Jepsen, Monroe Center, Brandon (Blair) Roeglin, Rockford, Brett Roeglin, Madison, Wisconsin, Nathan Roeglin, Marshfield, Wisconsin, Erika Roeglin, Marshfield, Wisconsin, Kelly Helfrich, Jeffrey Helfrich, and Kyle Helfrich all of Rochelle, and eight great-grandchildren.

Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers, Jack and Richard.
She enjoyed spending her days outside in the yard with her loving husband, Kenneth, knitting, quilting, sewing, traveling, watching the Green Bay Packers and taking advantage of time with her grandchildren.

There will be a public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow the service at Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
