AMBOY — Dakota W. Piper, 14, of Amboy, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his home. He was born July 27, 2002 in Rockford, the son of Nathan and Emily (Goldman) Piper.
He was a student at Amboy Junior High School and had just completed the eighth grade. He was a member of the PBX Airsoft Club and was known as number 75 on the Amboy Junior Tackle Football team and number 80 on the AFC Junior Tackle Footvall team. Dakota loved the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his mother Emily (Daniel) Goldman-Manning of Ashton; and his father Nathan (Jillian Rieskamp) Piper of Amboy; one sister, Maddilynn Piper, and one brother, Kaden Piper; one step-sister, Lila Rieskamp; and one step-brother, Liam Rieskamp; paternal grandparents, Larry and Eileen Piper of Amboy; maternal grandmother, Cindy Goldman of Ashton; maternal great-grandparents, John and Norma Atkinson of Ashton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Goldman, and several great-grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 1 p.m. at the Mihm Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rev. Timothy Draper officiating. Burial will follow in Ashton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial will be established.
