GRANTS PASS, Ore. — David Lewis Squier, age 74, passed away after a short illness on April 8, 2018. He was born Oct. 26, 1943 at Rochelle Hospital.
David grew up on a farm south of Rochelle, attended grade school in Steward and graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1961. He received a Masters degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, in 1966.
He moved to the San Francisco Bay area, residing in Portola Valley, Calif. After 40 years of working for Lockheed Martin, he retired to southern Oregon.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Judy Rieder Squier; and his sisters, Gloria Squier of Forest City, Calif., and Linda Squier Freeman of Bloomington; three daughters, Emily Cross, Elizabeth Belikoff and Naphtalie Joiner; and six grandchildren, Brianna, Luka, Nico and Quinn Belikoff and Finn and Elliot Cross.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Violet Squier, of Compton.
A celebration of David’s life and eternal life in heaven was held on June 8 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Crossroads Church on M Street in Grants Pass, Oregon.
