ROCHELLE — On Tuesday three officials from the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) came to Rochelle for a briefing on the industrial development opportunities being created by the City of Rochelle Railroad.
The group rode the City of Rochelle Railroad locomotive during their visit.

While in Rochelle, these officials met with Mayor John Bearrows and other members of the city’s economic development department staff to discuss economic development opportunities for further growth of the city rail system which has been a driver for new industrial development for more than 35 years.
