ROCHELLE — Deanna Sue Hayward, 50, of Rochelle, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 26, 1970 in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel R. and Gail (Mitchell) Dailey. She married David Hayward on April 7, 1990 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle.

Deanna spent her whole life in the Rochelle area. She was a lifelong Hub who worked in the RTHS cafeteria from 2010-2015. Her main job throughout her life was raising her family. Her children and husband meant everything to her. She was always there for her kids, whether it be driving them to sporting or school events, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her kids. Deanna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and daughter and will be missed by all who knew her.

Deanna is survived by her husband of almost 31 years, David; two daughters, Amanda Lynn (Tyler) Hofmann of Geneva, and Alexis Danielle (Mary) Studebaker-Reed of Rochelle; her parents, Daniel R. and Gail Dailey of Kentucky; and a brother, Daniel J. Dailey of Tennessee.

A family viewing will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11 at the First General Baptist Church. A family funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Angelo Bonacquisti officiating.  The service will be live streamed on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home Facebook page. Interment will be in Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
