ROCHELLE — Delores Mae Vance, 91, from Rochelle, passed away on April 10, 2019 at Lifes Journey Senior Living where for the last three years she had been cared for by their loving staff.
Born July 8, 1927 in Muscatine, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alice and Oliver Terry. Shortly after WWII she met the love of her life, veteran Robert E. Vance. They were married on Nov. 15, 1946. Bob died in 2002 after almost 56 years of marriage.
A loving stay at home mother, she was devoted to her family. She loved to play Bridge and volunteered at the Rochelle United Methodist Church and hospital auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam (Steve) Brinkerhoff of Paris, Illinois, and Jan (Ed) Kissick of Rochelle. She has seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Terry and brother-in-law Harvey (Darlene) Vance, all of Muscatine, Iowa.
A private family service will be held at a later date in Muscatine.
A memorial has been set up for the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
