Deputies arrest several on outstanding warrants

On Oct. 5 the following individuals were arrested on Outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Steven Rozakis, 35, for violation of sex offender registry. Rozakis didn’t post $10,000 (10 percent) for bond and was scheduled to appear in court Oct. 6.
James Ellis, 40, of Freeport, for failure to appear. Ellis received a $1,000 recog for bond and will appear in court on Oct. 30.
On Oct. 5 at approximately 6:04 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of South Freeport Road. After further investigation, Paige Kerr, 22, of Freeport, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended. Kerr was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of cannabis less than 10 grams. Kerr was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 8000 block of S. Green Street in Grand Detour reference to a one vehicle accident with an injured driver. After investigation, deputies learned a 16-year-old female juvenile from Dixon, was traveling westbound in a Toyota Camry on Broad Street approaching the curve to Green Street. As the driver negotiated the curve, she lost control traveling off of the east side of the roadway and struck a mailbox before striking a tree. The driver was transported to KSB Hospital by Dixon Rural EMS for non-life threatening injuries. The driver was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
Oct. 6
On Oct. 6 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:

Christy L Burrows, 41, of Chicago, for forgery with a bond of $5,000 (10 percent). Burrows remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on Oct. 10.
Jason LaPage, 42, of Oregon, for Failure to Appear. LaPage posted $100, was issued a Recognizance Bond and released. He will appear in court on Dec. 11.
Sherry A. Townsend, 40, of Aurora, for driving while license revoked with a bond of $5,000 (10 percent). Townsend was released and will appear in court on Nov. 27.
Brook Young, 25, of Oregon, for failure to appear. Young posted $221 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court date needed.
On Oct. 6 at approximately 5:26 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at 111 Main Street in Leaf River. After an investigation Christopher D. Strite, 26, of Leaf River, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Strite was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 7
On Oct. 7 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Zachary Davis, 21, of Mt. Morris, for Failure to Appear. Davis did not post the $971 Full Cash Bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Davis will appear in court on Oct. 10.
Andre Freeman, 18, of Freeport, for battery with a bond of $2,000/10 percent. Freeman will appear in court on Oct. 10.
On Oct. 7 at approximately 11:44 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s department along with Byron Fire Department and Byron EMS responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of IL Route 2 and Meridian Road. After an investigation it was learned that Duane C. Hatfield, 77, of Byron, failed to stop at the stop intersection. The vehicle then struck a tree and overturned. Hatfield was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. Hatfield was charged with Disobeying a Stop Sign and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Hatfield was given an I-bond and released to hospital staff. D & W towing removed the vehicle from the location.
On Oct. 7 at 11:12 p.m., Ogle County deputies arrested Mark R. Sievert, 52, of Byron, in the 6000 block of Oak Drive, Byron for Aggravated Assault, Reckless Conduct and Disorderly Conduct. He was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
Oct. 8
On Oct. 8 at 9:49 p.m., Ogle County Deputies arrested Cheryl A. Combs, 56, of Mt. Morris, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol after a traffic stop in the 900 block of W Washington St. Combs was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
