Deputies arrest two following residential thefts

On Aug. 8, at 11:15 a.m., Ogle County detectives arrested Grant E. McDonald, 34, of Byron, and Leanna C. Myers, 30, of Byron. McDonald was charged with theft over $500, a Class 4 Felony, and Myers was charged with theft under $500, a Class A Misdemeanor. The arrests stem from a joint investigation with the Byron Police Department into items that were stolen from residences in Byron and rural Monroe Center. Both McDonald and Myers were transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
On Aug. 9, at approximately 4:47 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Illinois Route 64 and Evergreen Road. After investigation, deputies placed James Emery, 36, of Leaf River, under arrest for driving while license suspended.  Emery was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Aug. 9, at 10:28 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at mile marker 77 westbound for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Amanda Ramsey, 36, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Ramsey was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
On Aug. 9, at 10:47 p.m., following a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at mile marker 75, deputies arrested Jose Ruiz, 43, of Zion, for driving while license suspended.  Ruiz was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted on scene by Rochelle Police.
On Aug. 10, at 10:13 p.m., following a traffic stop on I-88 at mile marker 76, deputies arrested Takita L. Spearman-Whitfield, 32, of Rockford, for driving while license suspended.  Spearman-Whitfield was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Rochelle Police.
