On June 3, Ogle County Sherriff’s Office received a call of a two vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Holcomb Rd and Meridian Rd. After an investigation, it was determined that Beverly Lamkey, of Holcomb, stopped at the intersection, but then failed to yield for oncoming traffic. She continued west into the intersection and struck a pickup truck headed north. The driver of the truck was transported to Swedish American hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening injuring’s. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Lynn-Scott-Rock and Stillman Valley fire departments.
June 4
On June 4, at approximately 3:23 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a one vehicle roll-over accident at the intersection of Stillman Road and Holcomb Road. A blue Dodge Dart was northbound on Stillman Road, when the driver, DC Robert Hitchcock, 32, of Oregon, swerved to miss an animal, causing the vehicle to enter the east side ditch and roll over into a field. After further investigation, Hitchcock was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident and driving under the influence. Hitchcock was transported to Ogle County Jail and posted I-Bond. His court date is set for July.
On June 4, at approximately 12:48 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leaf River Fire Department and the Leaf River Ambulance responded to a one vehicle roll-over accident with injuries in the 400 block of E. 3rd St. Leaf River. A blue Dodge Caravan was westbound on 3rd Street, when the vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lane and into the south side ditch striking a utility pole and a tree, before rolling over in the ditch and coming to a stop on its side. The driver, Michael P. Remhof, 65, of Leaf River, was extricated from the vehicle by the Leaf River Fire Department and then transported to SwedishAmerican Hospital by the Leaf River ambulance with minor injuries. Remhof was arrested for failure to reduce speed and driving under the influence. Remhof posted I-bond. His court date is set for July.
June 6
On June 6, at approximately 5 p.m., Ogle Count Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Dixon Street and Franklin Street in Polo. After further investigation Anthony Brinkmeire, 54, of Byron, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended and two outstanding Stephenson County warrants. Brinkmeire was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On June 6, at approximately 8:13 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop in the 3000 block of N. Stillman Road. After further investigation deputies arrested Gary L. Long, 67, of Rockford, for no valid driver’s license. Long was additionally issued a citation for no headlights when required. Long was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
June 7
On June7, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Dylan Bryant, 27, of Rochelle, in Winnebago County. He was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Bryant posted I-bond. His court date is set for June 14, at 1 p.m.
On June 7, at 12:30 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies made a traffic stop at 508 Main Street. Leaf River. Deputies arrested Joan C. Stanis, 57, of Leaf River. Stanis was arrested because she had a failure to appear retail theft warrant out of Rockford Police Department.
