ROCKTON – Diana O’Brien, 52, of Rockton, passed away Nov. 24, 2019 with her loving family at her side.

Diana was born March 27, 1967 to Janis and Robert Wilson in Rockford. She spent her adult life as a nurse’s aide and phlebotomist serving the Rockford community. She worked at Rockford Memorial, SwedishAmerican and Beloit hospitals. Diana loved spending her time horseback riding, fishing and camping. An ideal day for her would be a combination of all three. She was a talented artist, and worked with stained glass as her medium of choice.

ROCKTON – Diana O’Brien, 52, of Rockton, passed away Nov. 24, 2019 with her loving family at her side.

Diana was born March 27, 1967 to Janis and Robert Wilson in Rockford. She spent her adult life as a nurse’s aide and phlebotomist serving the Rockford community. She worked at Rockford Memorial, SwedishAmerican and Beloit hospitals. Diana loved spending her time horseback riding, fishing and camping. An ideal day for her would be a combination of all three. She was a talented artist, and worked with stained glass as her medium of choice.

Diana loved life and was not one to shy away from an open mic and karaoke nights. She enjoyed festivities and her favorite holiday was always the one coming up next.

Diana adored the children in her life and was a very involved grandmother, aunt and mentor to the children around her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom O’Brien; her mother, Janis Wilson; her children, Mark Voss, Shawna (Brandon) Sedols, Christopher (Jamie) O’Brien, and Jynelle (Jason) Brock. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kylie Rowlett, Noah Voss, Daphne Sedols, Cole O’Brien and Knox Brock; and her siblings, Tracey Manering, Craig Wilson and Scott Wilson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her father, Robert Wilson.

A memorial gathering for Diana is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Advantage Funeral Home, located at 7000 W. State St., Rockford.
