ROCHELLE — Donna M. (Aeikens) Peerboom, 83, died Oct. 2, 2017, at Pine Acres Rehabilitation & Living Center.
Donna was born on April 6, 1934, just outside of Clara City, Minn. She married James Peerboom on April 30, 1956, in Minneapolis, Minn. She was the daughter of Ben and Jessie (Christians) Aeikens.
She is survived by her husband James; two sons, Jeff (Kathi) Peerboom, Rockton, and Steve (Liz) Peerboom, DeKalb; and two daughters, Sandra Peerboom, DeKalb, and Donna May (JR)  Spoonmore, Rochelle; seven grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Peerboom, Indianapolis, Ind., Stephanie (Caleb) Davies, DeKalb, Amber (Josh) Mosher, Rochelle, Phillip (Amanda) Peerboom, Roscoe, Michael Peerboom, Palatine, Holley Peerboom, Rochelle, and Matthew Peerboom, DeKalb; six great-grandchildren, Anna and Jordan Davies, Cheyenne, Jason, and Lilley Peerboom, Elijah Mosher; siblings, Don (Peggy) Aeikens (her twin), Minneapolis, Ken (Janice) Aeikens, Benson, Minn., Shirley (Lyle) Tollefson) Minneapolis, Minn., John (Caron) Aeikens, Granite Falls, Minn., Leona Aeikens (Denny Gabbert), Granite Falls, Minn., Joanne (Estle Jenkins) Cortland, Elaine (Larry) Anacleto, Lemoore, Calif., Patricia Aeikens, Clovis, Calif., and Jim (Diane) Aeikens, Morris, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Beverly (in infancy), and brothers, Rodney Christians, Dennis Aeikens and Wayne Aeikens.
Donna worked and retired from General Electric in DeKalb in 1999. She also drove the senior citizen’s bus for the Hub City Senior Center in Rochelle for many years.
Donna was a kind and gentle person, and she was loved dearly by her family and friends. She spent many hours at the Hub City Senior Center, even after she could no longer drive the bus. She also loved playing Bingo and going to the riverboat in Clinton, Iowa, to play Keno.
She would spend many weekends there with her best friend and oldest daughter, Sandy.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 7 at St. Patrick’s Church, Rochelle. The visitation will be at Beverage-Lyons Funeral Home in Rochelle from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 6. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Rochelle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hub City Senior Center, in care of Beverage-Lyons Funeral Home, 704 N. 6th St., Rochelle.
