GENESEO — The Hubs varsity bowling team traveled to Lee’s Lanes on Thursday for a Northern Illinois Big 12 West battle against the Geneseo Maple Leafs, with the Rochelle boys falling by a score of 3,351-3,121. The loss bumps Rochelle’s record down to 4-10 on the season.
Geneseo topped the Hubs 1,125-994 in the first game behind 220 from Kyler Rusk and 203 from Sebastian Einfeldt. Senior Mark Bratko rolled 197 to propel Rochelle in the first game, while junior Tyler Johnson added 183.
The Maple Leafs added to their series lead with a 1,074-1,056 win in the second game. Rusk bowled 202 and Einfeldt totaled 200 for Geneseo, while junior Dallas Driver tossed a team-high 232 game and junior Brady Shank threw a 204.
Geneseo capped off its sweep of Rochelle with a 1,152-1,071 victory in the third and final game. Logan Munoz rolled 226 for the Maple Leafs, and Rusk shot 224 to finish with a match-high 646 series. Driver threw 194 to lead the Hubs with a 570 series, while Shank finished three pins behind with 567 after a 196 third game.
