Driver who rolled van, left scene hit with several citations

On Nov. 29, 2018 at 4:43 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department and ambulance personnel responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on Holcomb Road and Armour Road.
A green Dodge Caravan was travelling westbound on Holcomb Road when the vehicle drove into the north ditch, striking a culvert. The vehicle then went airborne, striking a stop sign and then rolling over several times prior to coming to a stop in the field.
The driver of the vehicle had left the scene on foot prior to emergency vehicles arriving. After further investigation, the driver Kyle D. Smith, 27, of Byron, was located at 109 Main St. in Holcomb at 7:24 am. Smith was uninjured from the accident and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and no valid driver’s license. He was given a January court date to appear on the charges.
On Nov. 23 at 5:19 p.m. deputies made a traffic stop in the 4000 block of IL Route 2 and arrested Charles Williams, 50, of Franklin Grove, for driving while license suspended. Williams also received citations for improper use of registration, no seat belt and no insurance. Williams was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
Warrant arrests
On Nov. 27, 2018, the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Heather l. Heathcott, 39, of Mt. Morris, for failure to appear with a $1,200 full cash bond. She was released on a recognizance bond with a future court date.
Robin A. Weatherall, 30, of Rockford, for failure to appear with a $1,243 full cash bond. Weatherall was released on a recognizance bond and will appear in court on Dec. 5, 2018.
