STERLING — Rochelle senior Katie Dummer found her groove on the lanes when the Lady Hubs varsity bowling team battled in an eight-team field at Sterling’s MLK Invitational on Monday.
Rochelle placed seventh overall, knocking down 4,634 pins to jump ahead of Kewanee for the No. 7 spot in the standings. Dummer rolled 673 over her first three games with a tournament-high score of 278 in her third game, and the senior finished with 1,224 pins over six games to take second individually. Senior Carlie Elder totaled 1,120 pins to placed ninth individually, while senior Hope Palmer added 943 pins.
Dummer also recorded Rochelle’s high six-game series when the Lady Hubs battled at the Morris Invitational this past weekend. The senior placed ninth individually with 1,198 pins to lead Rochelle to 14th place out of 20 schools.
