ROCHELLE — Eddie Allen Holtzclaw, 59, of the Rochelle area, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Eddie was born Sept. 30, 1961 and raised by his parents, Jerry and Doris Sorrels. He married Jenifer Lindaas on Jan. 16, 1988 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
Eddie worked for the Village of Hillcrest as head of maintenance for 13 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, and was a member of the NRA. He loved his family, friends, God and country.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Jenifer; his son, Shane (Mindy) Holtzclaw of Red Bluff, California, and their children, Aiden, Shyler, Shane Jr., Treasure, and Harmony Holtzclaw; son, Lucas (Melissa) Holtzclaw of Amboy; a daughter, Kara Holtzclaw of Amboy, and her children, Aliyah Holtzclaw, and Otto Kempson; his father, Jerry Sorrels of Merced, California; four siblings, Donna (Rich) Carlquist of Oroville, California, Doug (Sandra) Brown of Grenada, Mississippi, Ronnie Brown of Oroville, California, and Jerri (Bobby) Thompson of Gordonville, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and John “Bud” Howell, who was like a son to Eddie.
Eddie is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Sorrels.
Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
