COSTA MESA, Calif. — Edith “Louise” Bolick passed away on Feb. 28, 2018 of complications from pneumonia.  She was born on June 15, 1933 to Everett and Edith Bondell (Logan) Rader of Kings.

Louise attended Kings grade school and graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1951.  She attended Rockford Business School and went on to become a flight attendant for Capital Airlines, a precursor to United Airlines.  While working for Capital, she met and married a pilot, who also worked for the airline and would become one of United’s first pilots, Jack N. Bolick from Tonkawa, Okla.  They settled in Crystal Lake and then transferred to Costa Mesa, Calif., where she has resided since 1967.

Louise and Jack were members of the Presbyterian Church of Costa Mesa for many years. Jack passed away in 1992 and they were married for 32 years.  Louise loved to travel and she went on many trips that took her to all parts of the world.  Louise and Jack were avid grouse and quail hunters and often went on hunting trips in Canada.  Louise was also a serious golfer and a member of the Mesa Verde Country Club where she participated in a number of tournaments.  She enjoyed playing bridge and had many friends over the years which she shared weekly game with.  Louise loved dogs and during her lifetime she had a number of canine companions that were close to her heart.

As time passed she was blessed by developing a relationship with John Taylor, also a retired United pilot from Costa Mesa. After a few years of courting, the two were united in 2002. They enjoyed life together for 16 years with traveling and golfing. Although Louise did not have any children, she was an aunt to a niece and four nephews who were blessed to have a special relationship with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and her younger sister, Roberta Rader.

She is survived by her husband, John Taylor; her sister, Ann (Robert) Johnson of Malta; a niece, Cindy Brown of Lindenwood; nephews, Daniel (Sheryl) Johnson of Andover, Kan., and David (Molly) Johnson of Esmond; in addition to eight grand-nieces and nephews; and Mark Taylor, son of John Taylor.  She was deeply loved by her family and those close to her.

A burial service is planned for June 25 at 10:30 a.m., taking place at White Rock Cemetery, Kings.
