ROCHELLE — Carlie Elder found her rhythm early in the Lady Hubs’ match against Belvidere on Tuesday, rolling a team-high 257 in her first game and cruising to a 655 series in Rochelle’s nonconference loss to the Lady Bucs.
The match was the first at home for the Lady Hubs since facing Streator on Jan. 5, and Rochelle started strong with a 1,012-885 victory in the first game. Junior Katie Dummer added a 205 and senior Julia Frye bowled a 191 to lead the Rochelle attack.
Belvidere completely erased their deficit in the second game though, topping the Lady Hubs 1,065-925 behind a 235 from Holley Steelberg and a 206 from Hannah Lowery. The Lady Bucs then took the third game 1,018-936 to win the series by a score of 2,968-2,873.
