Rochelle — Eleanor Lillian Hart, 93, passed away at her home on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. She was born on Sept. 19, 1925 in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Leo and Lillian (Desotelle) Fleury.
Eleanor graduated from St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago and worked as a nurse at the Americana Nursing Home in Rochelle.
She married William A. Lakanen; he preceded her in April of 1992. Eleanor later married Howard Hart on June 20, 1996 at St. Patrick Catholic Church; he preceded her on April 26, 2002.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lee Fleury; and sister, Agnes Huft.
She is survived by her five sons, William Lakanen of Elkorn, Wisconsin, James (Sue) Lakanen of Aurora, Steven (Patty) Lakanen of Stillman Valley, Thomas (Sheila) Lakanen of St. Charles, Missouri, and Richard Lakanen of Rochelle; five grandchildren, Tony (Janet) Lakanen, Matt, Mark, and Greg and Eric Lakanen; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Fleury of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Ruben Herrera officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior at the Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be at the St. Patrick Catholic Church.
