Electronics recycling event to be held July 27

OREGON – The Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department (OCSWMD) will be holding their monthly residential electronics drop-off on Friday, July 27. The event runs from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., and is located at the County Annex Building at 909 Pines Road in Oregon.
Acceptable
Items accepted include all televisions, computer towers, hardware, cable, and monitors, printers, FAX machines, copiers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, VCR/ DVD players, satellite receivers, stereo equipment, speakers, phone systems, printer cartridges, CFL bulbs, holiday lights, rechargeable batteries, and microwave ovens for a charge of $5 per unit. There is a limit of seven large items (televisions, monitors, printers, microwaves, computer towers) per vehicle. For a full list of accepted items visit www.oglecounty.org.

Not acceptable
Items not accepted include coffee makers, bread makers, refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, power tools, yard tools, vacuum cleaners, smoke detectors, lamps, electric razors and toothbrushes, toasters, fans, heaters, and cardboard boxes, Styrofoam, and other packaging from your electronics. Please remove items from original boxes and packaging prior to your arrival at the event. Boxes or totes containing any prohibited items are not accepted. Please only bring accepted electronic items to these events.
This event is for residential electronics generated from Ogle County residents. Identification will be requested upon your arrival at the event. If you have business or institution electronic waste, or if you live outside of Ogle County, contact the OCSWMD for your recycling options.
