ROCHELLE — Eric R. Nelson, 77, of Rochelle, passed away Monday, Oct. 11 at his home.
He was born July 2, 1944, in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Eric L. and Lorraine (McCleary) Nelson. Eric married Elizabeth Rose Finnigan on April 7, 1973, in Lombard, Illinois.
Eric was a self-employed carpenter and member of the Masons, Shiners and Scottish Rite in Rochelle.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Eric T. (Rebecca) Nelson and Jerod C. Nelson; two grandchildren, Rune and Elise; siblings, Marcelle (Philip) Wells and Jacqueline Brown and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laurri, in infancy.
A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb followed by a service with the Chaplain Chuck Olson of Northern Illinois Hospice officiating. Cremation has taken place at Anderson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
