ROCK FALLS – Ernestine “Chic” Bradford, 93, died Thursday, March 1, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1925 in Cash, Ark., the daughter of Clarence and Etta Lee (McGowan) Montgomery. She married Harvey Bradford on Oct. 26, 1940 in Cash, Ark; he died Feb. 21, 2000.
She was employed for 22 years at the former General Electric Plant in Morrison, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Rock Falls United Methodist Church, the Rock Falls American Legion Auxiliary, the Rock Falls VWF Auxiliary and the GEM Club.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry (Maria) Bradford of Scottsdale, Ariz., Kenny (Patty) Bradford of Rock Hill, S.C. and Rick (Pam) Bradford of Columbia, Mo.; her daughter-in-law, Laura Helms Bradford of Rochelle; her sister Jerolene “Jerri” Pearce of Prophetstown; six grandchildren, Laura Hermes, Christine Brown, Kelly Bradford, Kevin Bradford, Lindsey Bradford Moore and Nick Bradford; six great-grandchildren, Andrew Hermes, James Hermes, Madeline Brown, Austin Bradford, Ava Moore and Abigale Allen Moore and one step great-grandson, Anderson Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; her son, Charles Allen Bradford; her sister, Nora Golden; her brothers, Hall Montgomery and Howard Montgomery.
Visitation will be Friday, March 9 from 10 -11 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Solomon Sudhaker officiating. Burial will conclude at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
