Event raises funds for Oregon's Serenity Shed

Posted

OREGON – The Hunt Club in Oregon recently hosted a fundraiser for The Serenity Shed and raised more than $1,500.
The event was the brain child of Jody Wubbena and Destini Benesh, who helped guest bartend the event. After proposing the idea for the fundraiser to The Hunt Club, the owners of the bar/restaurant in Oregon jumped behind the idea and helped Wubbena and Benesh provide piñatas, food and drink specials, raffles and a 50/50.
“I just can’t thank these girls and The Hunt Club enough,” said Cathy Warren, manager of The Shed. “Their generosity and hard work is very appreciated and we are lucky to have such a philanthropic business in Oregon. The local area’s support has been instrumental in the success of The Shed and this is just another example of the wonderful community in which we live.”
The Serenity Shed located in downtown Oregon is a full-functioning workshop and bereavement center serving all local residents. The Shed is part of Serenity Hospice and all proceeds support the mission of Serenity, although anyone who has experienced any type of loss is welcome at The Shed.
The Shed is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Stop by anytime or call 815-732-2499 for more information.
