Extra gifts for residents at Rochelle Gardens

ROCHELLE — Residents at Rochelle Gardens will have some extra gifts under the Christmas tree this year thanks to the generosity of those at the Presbyterian Thrift Shop.
Last Thursday, Shirley Villa, Manager, and TyAnne Unger, Assistant Manager for the thrift shop presented Walmart gift cards for the 60 residents to Rachel Powell, Activity Director at Rochelle Gardens.

“Along with the gift cards, the Presbyterian Thrift Store is providing clothing and miscellaneous items for their Christmas party,” Villa explained.
The gift cards are given with help from the Witness Commission and a grant from the Rochelle Area Community Foundation.
“Some of the residents don’t have family, and some are homeless when they came in,” Powell said. “The donations will help brighten the residents’ holiday.”
Rochelle Gardens will be hosting the Christmas party on Thursday, Dec. 21, where the guest will enjoy appetizers and watch a Christmas movie as well as open presents.
