ASHTON — F. Morine Snodgrass, 70, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at the UW Health University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Morine was born June 28, 1948 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd Franklin and Norma Morine (Chapin) Davis. They precede her in death.
Morine worked at Crest Foods for over 40 years.
She was an avid knitter and was involved with a knitting club through the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle, where she knitted numerous prayer shawls throughout the years. She also knitted baby blankets for nearly every baby in the family as well as an afghan for every family marriage.
She enjoyed camping, especially at her campground in Woodhaven, which became a gathering spot for friends and family.
Morine was family oriented and loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was a good woman with a gracious heart who would do anything for her family and friends.
Morine is survived by her children, Rich (Denise) Snodgrass of Tampico and Laurie (Terry) Avery of Franklin Grove; the father of her children, Richard Snodgrass of Chana; six grandchildren, Brandon Snodgrass, Destiny King, Skyler Snodgrass, Charles Downey, Trevor Downey, and Sheryl Avery; six great-grandchildren, Autumn, Michael, Daxton, Ella, Ethan, and Abby; four siblings, Sherry Newman, Larry (Ann) Davis, Joanne (Jerry) Waters, and Phil (April) Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St. in Rochelle.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Tilley officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport, Iowa.
