Fall programs at the library

We are getting ready for fall at the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library District! If you come to the library, remember to bring your library card. We have some new and exciting things happening at the library throughout the next few months and are looking forward to seeing all of our friends at the library.

Story Time is going to be starting soon. Story Time is for ages up to seven years old with a caregiver. The dates for September Story Times are Sept. 14 and 28. Programs are at 10:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. This program will feature themed stories and crafts.

Books With Friends will begin again on Sept. 6 and 20 from 4-5 p.m. The first half of this program will be reading and the second half will be fun activities. Bring a book and a friend and come and have fun at the library!

We have dates for both of these programs planned through the end of December. To sign up please call Ashley at 815-562-3431 or email [email protected].

In September the library will celebrate Constitution Week. We will have a display downstairs in the Children’s Department. The library will have the Daughters of the American Revolution “Patriot Tree” on display and have a word search and a Constitution Scavenger Hunt for kids.  “Constitution Week is the commemoration of America's most important document. It is celebrated annually during the week of Sept. 17-23. The United States Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights. (https://www.dar.org/national-society/education/constitution-week) This year marks the 234th birthday of our nation’s most important document.

The Boo Bash is back! Come to the library on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. for some spook-tacular family fun, games and activities. All ages are welcome, costumes are encouraged but not required.

Something new and exciting is coming to the library in November! Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more details!

To stay up to date with all our programs, events and announcements, find the library on Facebook at Flagg-Rochelle Public Library. Look for the “I Heart Books” profile picture. See you at the library!
