ROCHELLE –– The children’s ministry at First Presbyterian Church hosted a baby and kids garage sale on Saturday, July 8 to help send 12 fourth through sixth grade students to summer camp.
The garage sale featured a variety of kid and baby items that were donated to the church. The students helped set up and price items in anticipation of the sale. During the sale, the elementary students helped carry items for customers and handled all aspects of the sale. The students also sold lemonade and popcorn as well as homemade jam. The sale included a wide range of kid items including baby toys and equipment, books, bikes, bedroom décor and lots of toys. The students raised $650 at the sale.
The students will be attending summer camp at Timber Lee in Wisconsin later this summer. They will hold their final fundraiser at the Outdoor Market on Saturday, July 29 at Cypress House from 9 a.m. to noon.
