ROCHELLE — Take a break from the kitchen on Wednesday, April 10, while helping to support the Focus House at the annual Spaghetti Supper from 4-7 p.m. at its facility located at 3279 IL Rte. 251 in Rochelle.

Prices for the spaghetti supper are $8 for adults, seniors (65+) $7, children $5. Under age 5 eats free of charge. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the residents at Focus House.

There will be a 50/50 raffle along with a quilt raffle; $1 per ticket or six for $5.

Focus House Director Brenda Mason expressed gratitude for the continuing support from the community. Many make the supper a tradition to gather with friends and family, now in its 18^thyear.

“We get a really good turnout,” Mason said. “Usually we serve anywhere between 400 to 500 every year.”

Some of the silent auction items include White Sox tickets, Rockford Rivets tickets, bean bag sets, a ukulele, a Dr. Pepper retro bike and a variety of other packages. Dozens of baskets with themes such as home décor, makeup and hair accessories, food, garden and blooms, wine, fun and games and tools will also be available.

Focus House is a residential facility for youth located in Ogle County, serving youth from across northern Illinois who are court involved and for a variety of reasons are unable to live with their families. Currently the facility serves 4 people in the residential portion, and between 10 and 15 through the youth services operation.

The Rochelle home, located at North Ninth Street and Fourth Avenue will reopen in August. Known as the Miller house, the facility is a former convent and has a residential, dorm-style setup.

“All money and proceeds go directly to services for the kids,” Mason added. “We do apply any of it to the operational costs. It is all for personal and recreational items … anything the kids may need.”
