BOURBONNAIS — Four members of the Rochelle Area Track Club will be competing at the regional level in DeKalb after qualifying at the 2017 USATF Illinois Association Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships at Olivet Nazarene University this past weekend.
Zachary Dreska placed third in the 9-10 boys javelin throw to claim his spot in the regional meet, finishing with a mark of 61-6 (18.75 meters). David Dreska took second in the 11-12 boys shot put with a heave of 24-3 ½ (7.40 meters).
Caleb Dreska finished fifth out of 18 competitors in the 9-10 boys long jump, leaping 11-3 (3.43 meters) to earn a spot in the regional meet. Rounding out the bunch was Anna Harvey, who placed third in the 13-14 girls pole vault with a clearance of 6-11 ¾ (2.13 meters).
The 2017 USATF Illinois Association Region 7 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships will begin on Thursday, July 6 at Northern Illinois University. The meet will run through Sunday, July 9.
