AMBOY — Frederick J. Minor, 82, of Amboy, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at Maple Crossing in Amboy. He was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Rochelle, the son of James and Willie (McClain) Minor.
He had worked for Nation Pizza in Waterman as well as Crest Foods in Ashton prior to his retirement. Fred was a Veteran of the Army serving during the Korean War.
He married Delores Blue June 15, 1990. She preceded him in death February 28, 2010.
Survivors include his son Kipton (Lynn) Minor of Dixon and Tiffany Glenn of Flagstaff, Ariz.; step-daughter Deborah (John) Harvey of Lawton, Iowa, and step-daughter-in-law Paula Blue of Amboy.
He was preceded in death by his step-son James Blue; a brother, Paul Carter; and two sisters, Ruth Galvin and Hazel Stonemets.
Funeral services were be held on Friday, Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m. in Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rev. Mark Glenn officiating. Burial followed in Johnson Grove Cemetery in Waterman with Military Rites by the Waterman American Legion.
