GENESEO — The Hubs freshman basketball team left it all on the court this past weekend in the final phase of the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Tournament, but the boys would come up just short in their final game of the season, falling to the Sterling Golden Warriors by a score of 57-51.
Austin Brown led Rochelle with 16 points, while Seth Gould added 14 points and Austin Greifenkamp chipped in eight points. Traevon Voss and Ben Hickey combined for 13 points in the close loss.
“The kids played really hard the entire game,” head coach Ryne Vrana said. “Our press looked really good. We shot the ball pretty well but Sterling made quite a fre 3-pointers on us.”
The loss bumps the freshman team down to 9-16 overall to finish the season.
