ROCHELLE – A fundraiser that tastes great and helps support a local church is going to be held early next month.
The Thiravong Family’s Famous Egg Roll Fundraiser will take place on Friday, March 6, to help raise funds for St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Rochelle. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church. The event will feature homemade Chinese food using family recipes.
Customers can purchase a meal including one egg roll, one crab Rangoon, one grilled pork loin, fried rice and a cookie for $10. Egg rolls are also available by the dozen for $15 or crab Rangoon’s for $10 a dozen.
All orders must be placed online prior to the day of the event, to ensure the correct amount of food is prepared. Orders can be placed through the website at https://tinyurl.com/stpeggrolls, or by scanning the QR code on the flyers.
“Everything has to be ordered online, they can’t just walk in and order it,” said Bob Elliott, chairman of the congregation. “There is no limit, we just need a number so we know how many egg rolls and stuff to make.”
The church will take orders up until 5 p.m., on Thursday, March 5. Meals can be picked up for dine-in or carry-out and delivery is available for orders of 10 or more meals.
The church is encouraging everyone to order a delicious meal for themselves or the entire office. All off the proceeds earned though the fundraiser will be donated to the St. Paul Lutheran Church and School.
