This year’s Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 8 to 11 p.m. in the RTHS commons with the theme, “A night around the world.”

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School starts homecoming week with plenty of activities planned.
This year’s Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 8 to 11 p.m. in the RTHS commons with the theme, “A night around the world.”
Students are encouraged to participate in Spirit Week, Monday through Friday — Millennium Monday, Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Character Day, Favorite Team Day, and on Friday is Senior Togas/Class Colors day: freshman white, sophomores grey, juniors and staff purple, and seniors wear black.
On Thursday at 6 p.m., the parade starts at City Hall. Karen Toohey, RTHS Math Teacher is the parade’s Grand Marshal. The route heads south, then east on Fourth Avenue, north on Lincoln Highway through the downtown, west on Sixth Avenue, north on Ninth Street to Tenth Avenue and ends at Tilton School. Students will be bused back to RTHS.
The Powder Puff football game starts at 8 p.m. that evening in the stadium.
Junior princess and prince candidates include Kaylee Brown, Morgan Schabacker, Maggie Williams, Allison Kalata, Evan Horner, Austin Greifenkamp, Gavin Ansteth and Ethan Etes.
Sophomore candidates Lizbeth Ugalde, Madison Carmichael, Morgan Haas, Ben Harvey, Juan Cincere and Garrett Burdin.
The freshman candidates include Josie Lundquist, Alyssa Schwanert, Braden Alfano, Owen Angell and Eric Briseno. Not pictured is freshman candidate Schuyler Podolski.
