DAVIS JUNCTION — Georgia Dee Benson, 81, of Davis Junction, passed away at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford on Jan. 19, 2018. She was born in Milledgeville, Tenn., to William and Mollie (Johnson) Mace on Aug.10, 1936.
She married John Fay Benson on Feb. 10, 1955 in Mississippi and was happily married until his passing on Jan. 25, 1998.
Georgia loved gardening, caring for her lawn, and her animals and watching her soaps on TV.
She is survived by her children, Dannie, Ronnie (Julie) and Ryan, all of Davis Junction; her grandchildren, Michael (Jacki) Jacobs and Kristina Seaworth; her great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Ashley and Alexis; her sister, Nancy Parks of Bartlett, Tenn.; and her brother, Earl (Martha) Mace of Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home, 701 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, at noon with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment to follow at Trinity Memory Garden Cemetery on Twombly Rd. in Rochelle.
