ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Township High School girls basketball program will host Indian Creek on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for the 2nd Annual Gift Games at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
Fans can bring new or unused gifts and receive free admission to the sophomore and varsity Lady Hub games. RTHS coaches will then deliver the gifts to residents of HOPE, the Ogle County Domestic Violence Shelter and The Rochelle Gardens.
Needs this season include animal figurines, light-up toddler toys, dinosaur figurines, Play-Doh sets, Paw Patrol toys, Toy Story 4 figures, baby dolls, LOL Surprise toys, Minecraft mystery boxes, G-rated family DVDs, action figures, Frozen dolls, interactive toddler toys and building blocks such as Lego blocks, etc. Additional needs are spiral notebooks, pens, envelopes, stamps, Sudoku booklets, WordSearch and snacks for seniors.
Kaneland
The Rochelle girls basketball team faced Kaneland on the road Tuesday to open conference play. Sophomore Zoey Tabor and junior Sofia Lenkaitis each scored four points as the Lady Hubs fell 49-13 to drop to 1-5 overall. Lenkaitis totaled two steals and junior Elise Hayenga recorded five rebounds for the Lady Hubs. Rochelle made only five baskets in the loss.
