Girls Basketball: Rochelle strikes down Stockton for first win

Lady Hubs snap three-game losing streak with 53-41 victory

FORRESTON — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity basketball team secured its first victory of the 2022-23 season on Saturday, defeating Stockton 53-41 and ending a three-game winless streak. Rochelle (1-3, 0-0 Interstate 8) will battle Winnebago in tournament play on Monday.

Junior Alivia Henkel shined for the Lady Hubs, scoring a team-leading 19 points while snatching nine steals and seven rebounds in the win. Senior Torrin Nantz followed with 16 points, sinking three 3-pointers for the second straight game. Junior Megan Seebach added six points for the Lady Hubs, while senior Bailey Jackson and junior Sydney Tabor each chipped in four points.
