Girls Bowling: Lady Hubs clinch season sweep against Morris


Vincent shines with 642 series as Rochelle wins 2,553-2,245

MORRIS — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team earned its second victory of the season against the Morris Redskins on Monday. Sophomore Cassidy Vincent shined with a team-leading 642 series as the Lady Hubs defeated the Redskins 2,553-2,245 on the road. Rochelle (6-4, 5-3 Interstate 8) will host a nonconference match against Belvidere on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The Lady Hubs opened the match against Morris with a 846-732 victory in the first game. Vincent fired a 213 to lead the Rochelle side, while freshman Kylie McCullough added 150 and two players including Alexis Jara and Madison Yurkovich shot 151 for the Redskins.

Rochelle extended its series lead with a 823-752 win in the second game, where Vincent rolled a series-best 234 and McCullough chipped in a 141. Yurkovich led Morris with a 155 in the second game before totaling a 147 in the third game, which Rochelle claimed 884-761 to seal the conference sweep.

McCullough stepped up for the Lady Hubs in the third game, shooting a series-best 200 to conclude the match with a 491 series. Yurkovich finished with a team-leading 453 series and Jara followed with a 391 series for the Redskins. Junior Faith Adams rolled a 378 series for the Lady Hubs.
