ROCHELLE — The Rochelle varsity girls bowling team returned to the lanes against Yorkville on Tuesday, with the Lady Hubs falling 2,337-1,797 to drop to 0-7 on the season. Rochelle will host Kaneland and Streator for two more home meets at T-Byrd Lanes on Wednesday and Thursday at 4 p.m.
“We struggled a bit to get back into the swing of things but we have a lot of bowling over the next week so we will get back on the horse and pick our game up,” head coach Joey Johanning said.”
Yorkville took the first game over Rochelle 811-583 behind 219 from Ellie Gates. Freshman Alyssa Mickley led the Lady Hubs with 136 in the opening game while freshman Alyssa Schwanert added 113.
The Foxes added onto their lead with a 713-561 victory in the second game. Taylor Patterson (146) and Maddy Morgan (145) rolled the high games for Yorkville, with Mickley (159) and senior Autumn Headon (120) leading the Lady Hubs in the middle game.
Yorkville completed its sweep of Rochelle by taking the Lady Hubs down 813-653 in the third game behind 178 from Patterson and 158 from Madi Bradford. Mickley shot 179 to finish with a team-best 474 series on the Rochelle side, while Headon added 116 and Schwanert rolled 106.
