Girls Bowling: Lady Hubs notch season-high score against Sycamore

Vincent shoots team-leading 589 series in 2,867-2,620 loss

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team posted its highest series score of the season on Thursday, when the purple and white hosted the Sycamore Spartans for an Interstate 8 Conference matchup.

Sophomore Cassidy Vincent fired a team-leading 589 series, while freshman Kylie McCullough followed with a 531 series as the Lady Hubs fell to the Spartans 2,867-2,620. Juniors Anahi Alanis and Makenzie Liezert added series scores of 436 and 400 to aid Rochelle (5-4, 4-3 Interstate 8) in the match. Sycamore claimed the first game 863-780 despite Vincent rolling a 189 and McCullough opening with a 159.

Rochelle broke the 900-pin mark over each of the final two games, but the Spartans eclipsed the 1,000-pin mark in the second game, winning 1,028-913 behind 226 from Kaitlyn Ryder and 222 from Brandi Stover. Vincent recorded a series-best 212 and McCullough fired a 183 for the Lady Hubs in the second game.

Sycamore completed the three-game sweep with a 976-927 victory in the third game, where Stover rolled a 193 to finish with a 567 series and Ryder cooled off with a 147 for a 533 series. McCullough's series-best 189 and Vincent's 188 were the high scores for Rochelle in the third game, while Liezert bowed out with a series-best 174 and Alanis added a 150.
