Girls Bowling: Lady Hubs post season-high score against Oregon
Vincent fires 638 series as Rochelle falls 2,936-2,796 loss
OREGON — A season-best effort wasn’t enough for the Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team on Friday, when sophomore Cassidy Vincent fired a 638 series and junior Anahi Alanis added a 531 series as the purple and white fell 2,936-2,796 against Oregon in nonconference play. Rochelle (8-6, 5-3 Interstate 8) will host Kaneland for a conference match on Tuesday.
Oregon took the first game 972-878, with Mackenzie Alford rolling a 201 while Ava Wight added a 193. Vincent and Alanis each threw a 184 to lead the Lady Hubs in the first game. Rochelle rallied to claim the second game 1,029-934 behind Vincent’s 218 and Alanis’ series-best 210. Freshman Kylie McCullough scored a series-best 195 and junior Faith Adams fired a series-best 160 to help the Lady Hubs take a one-pin lead over the Hawks in the team series total.
The Hawks saved their best effort for last, however, winning the third game 1,030-889 to seal the series victory over Rochelle. Wight rolled a 242 to finish with a 603 series for Oregon, while Kendra Ehrler added a 188 and Alford scored a 170. Vincent capped off her series with a 236 in the third game, while junior Makenzie Liezert recorded a series-best 163 for the Lady Hubs.
